Hackney Adventure Playgrounds

Back to the Home Page

The Adventure Playground quite simply tries to answer one question: What kind of play did we all most enjoy when we were young and how can we best provide these opportunities in a crowded city?
Lady Allen of Hurtwood

Hackney has seven adventure playgrounds

All seven Hackney Adventure Playgrounds have been recently refurbished, some through Hackney's Play Pathfinder programme, others through additional funds raised locally.

The adventure playgrounds are open access – this means that children are free to enter and come and go as they choose.

The adventure playgrounds are spaces dedicated to children’s play. Activities include swinging, climbing and digging, building dens, cooking and painting.
