Training and Play Development

Based at Pearson Street Adventure Playground, Hackney Play Association has its Training and Play Development Centre, which offers a broad range of courses for those working with children and young people.

 

         

Training courses coming up are:

11th July 2017 – Promoting positive Behaviour and Managing Aggression on playgrounds. This one day course will look at identifying unwanted behaviour, how to promote positive behaviour, looking at potential triggers, exploring strategies and helpful tips to diffuse potentially difficult situations and explore and understand contributing factors to aggressive behaviour.

Cost: £50 per student.

18th/19th July 2017 – Play-Way – introduction to play course. (Playwork Partnerships at University of  Gloucestershire) course.  Suitable for those who are new to play and playwork, this two day course (plus practical playground elements) is an excellent introduction to the practice and theory of play. It is a highly interactive course, where students gain an introduction to

  • What play is
  • The importance of play
  • Inclusive Play
  • Risk and safety
  • Play theory and practice

Cost of the two-day course is £60 per student, including registration, student pack and certification.

  1. Select the course you are interested in
  2. E-mail the student name and contact details to kay@hackneyplay.org
  3. We will then invoice you and once payment has been made, your place will then be confirmed via email. (in the event that your choice of course is fully booked, we will email you with alternative dates)

Apart from the July courses above, a full programme of training on Tuesdays starts again from September 26th 2017. The new programme will be updated here soon.
